Katja Ost
"To thyne own self be true..."
...Before The Kiss...
Katja Ost was born in
1975. She was the daughter of a wealthy family in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents seperated during her early teens, and was
pulled between the two fueding parents, and their families. By the time she hit highschool, her parents considered her a lost
cause. A beautiful rebel, with no interest in the family business, or the fancy boarding schools she attended, (only to be
sent to public schools after being thrown out), she went her own way after highschool. First attending college, before eventually
dropping out, she left behind her angst ridden teenage years in search of a new one.
Katja persued the non-typical route to share
her passion for art. First becoming a piercing artist, and then apprenticing under the then owner of " Midnight Wonderland."
Her passion for art rivaled her need for acceptance, in
both it's desire and intensity. Bouncing from one relationship to the next, the only solace she found was in her art.
Her talent took her
far, starting first in her home town, and quickly spreading amongst people she had never expected to notice her. Where
she had expected to find security, she only found a greater need within herself for acceptance. Met with both respect,
and adoration, as well as jealousy, and rejection, she bounced through the few high society individuals she knew, and
continues to know. This is where she was found.
...The Kiss...
It was 1997, and Katja was at the height of her career. Her name
was well known through-out the industry, her talent talked about in tattoo shops, and at conventions. She had become the owner
of " Midnight Wonderland " and things were looking up. On the outside. The stress of her almost famous life bore down on her.
The weight of remaining in one place was beginning to break her down. A free spirit can not stay still for long.
This is how Justine Carr found her. Broken, clinging, and on the
verge of fleeing. But she watched her for months, working hard despite the turmoil. Her art turning out the best it ever was.
Within Katja she found a companion, a lover, and her greatest competitor. The relationship could be called a "love-hate' relationship.
But for Katja, she had never been able to be so grey. For feelings for anything were either black, or white, she either loves
you, or she hates you. Heaven forbid if she hates you.
However it has been said that if she does like you, you are in
luck, because she is one of the most valuable, loyal, and stalwart friends. Unfortunatly for most, the hard to please child
inside never changes her mind about anyone.
Known quite well for being emotional, her Sire has often wrote
her off to others as being passionate. And she has often needed to. For years she has sat under the wing of Justine, learning
all that she could from her. The two fought frequently. Particuarlly over the subject of Justine embracing another.
...After The Kiss...
Ever since she was embraced, Katja has remained in the same place.
That is, until now. What brings her to New Corsica, she hasn't really stated. When asked, she says her Sire suggested New
Corsica, when she began to consider opening a new shop. Though it has been whispered that the reason might have been a particular
incident, with no particular details...unless of course, you are a Toreador...and if that's the case, the story has something
to do with an emotional break down with some surpressed details.
With the passion and desire of a Toreador, Katja continues to work,
and has opened a shop called " Poisioned Ink " that is located in in downtown New Corsica. Soon after her arrival, she
disappeared for several months. She returned to Chicago to finish closing " Midnight Wonderland " and claims to have spent
the rest of her time flittering from one convention to another, making apperances, and taking notes.
She claims to no longer speak with her Sire, and is often
quite about any further information when she is asked. Katja is a quiet individual, with a arm smile in place at all times.
Her style frequently changes with her mood. One day she may look like your typical, plain jane. While the next she may be
dolled up with different hair colors, and a vast array of colors, often those of the rainbow, decorating her face. Her tattoos
are almost always on display. She's warm, inviting, and comes off friendly to anyone who approaches her.
She can typically be found inside of the Elysium, or in her shop.
